Rockpool Est. 1989
Rockpool is one of the most iconic fine dining destinations in Sydney, offering some of the most unique and inventive modern Australian dishes. The incredible food comes at a bit of a price, with their 8 Course Degustation Menu costing you at least $185 per person. However, being awarded Restaurant of the Year (Australian Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Awards 2016) and well as three hats (Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2016), it is easy to see why so many choose to dine here despite its hefty price tag. If you’re planning to dine here, be sure to book way in advance as seating is in seriously high demand all year around.

Tetsuyas
Tetsuyas offers an exquisite fusion of French and traditional Japanese cuisine. Being voted as one of the best restaurants in the world, this venue is a renowned fine-dining restaurant. They serve a Set Degustation Menu at around $230 per person, which includes one of their signature dishes: a confit of Tasmanian ocean trout, served with a salad of celery, witlof, apple and unpasteurised ocean trout row. To ensure you experience everything Tetsuyas has to offer, you must try their incredible wine offering which can be specifically matched to your meal. The restaurant boasts one of Sydney’s most comprehensive wine lists which will easily tempt you into enjoying a few cheeky glasses with your meal.

Sepia
Next on our list is the internationally recognised and three-hatted venue, Sepia. This restaurant is situated in Sydney’s beautiful darling harbour precinct and offers a contemporary cuisine with a Japanese twist. The food is seriously amazing. You have to try their sea scallop with macadamia nut cream, quail egg, umeboshi, scallop crackling and linaria. Yum! On Friday and Saturday evenings, you can indulge in their 9 course tasting menu for $205 per person where you also have the option to have your meal matched with their extensive wine offering for an extra $135.

Quay
Being one of the most recognised Australian venues, I know for sure that this isn’t the first time you would have heard about the iconic Quay restaurant. It is renowned world-wide and regularly voted as Australia’s best restaurant. A four course dinner will cost around $175 per person, and their incredible tasting menu is priced at $235 per person. Not only are the dishes exquisite, but you’ll be enjoying your meal with one of the best views you can get of Sydney’s harbour as the venue overlooks the harbour, the bridge and the opera house. But, a visit to Quay won’t be complete without trying their famous guava and raspberry snow egg for dessert. You’ll leave the restaurant with the most incredible taste in your mouth.

Est combines contemporary French-influenced Australian food with elegance, to provide you with an unmatched fine dining experience. The venue sits in the heart of Sydney’s CBD and boasts a long list of awards for its superb dishes and acclaimed wine list. For dinner, you have the option of selecting a tasting menu at $180 per person, or the chef’s four course menu for $155 per person. Pricy, but super delicious. Est is perfect for celebratory occasions or even for a night to just indulge in some really, really good food.
